June 4, 2016 – The day was a success, the weather cooperated with only a few clouds in the sky. There were plenty of food tents along with attractions for kids. There were also some stunts performed on the Detroit River. The OPP along with the ministry of Fisheries assisted, we even had a Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer helping the kids. Music Express performed under a tent, along with a magic show on the main stage. The fish were biting which made for plenty of smiles and excitement on the faces of the participants. The biggest fish weighed in at 1.7 lbs, was caught by Joey Klingbile, with runner up Robert Hickey Landing one at 1.5 lbs. Professional Fisherman Italo Labignan, along with his crew were on hand to film the Fishing Derby for a segment on his show Canadian Sport Fishing. A special thanks to Pat Pagano, all the Volunteers and sponsors who helped make the event a success. Without you this wouldn’t be possible.
