Mission Statement

The Italian Canadian HandiCapable Association is devoted to enriching the lives of individuals with intellectual, developmental and/or physical disabilities through a range of sports, recreational, and social initiatives.

Guided by a steadfast commitment to equity, inclusion and diversity, our mission is to foster an environment where everyone can thrive. By promoting active participation, we aspire to enhance the overall health and well-being of our members while cultivating meaningful friendships and joyful experiences.

Value Statements

Purpose

The principle purpose of the ICHA is to improve the quality of life for individuals with intellectual, developmental and/or physical disabilities living in Windsor and Essex County by:

  1. Providing sport, social and recreational activities;

  2. Providing life skill training programs;

  3. Providing work skill training programs to promote employment opportunities.

Conduct

We respect the rights of our Members, our fellow Volunteers, Board Members, Staff and Community Partners. 

Position

Our goal of providing leadership is achieved through the participation and commitment of our dedicated Volunteers, Board Members, Staff and Community Partners.
