The Italian Canadian Handicapable Association wishes to congratulate the ICHA Spirit soccer "A" team, winners of the 2008 and 2009 Ontario Cup. This team was also triumphant in the 2009 Special Olympics Ontario Summer Games as well as at several other tournaments involving provincial competition.

We thank all our organizational volunteers, Kevin Mulvey, Tom Madia and the entire coaching staff, and of course the many businesses and individuals who so generously responded to the financial appeals of our founder, Mr. Egidio Novelletto.

We look forward to your continued support at the annual Handicapable Soccer Tournament.

Santina Ferrara, welcomed the 380 plus supporters and members attending the Summer Fundraiser. The event benefits the operation of the Novelletto Rosati Complex and weekly ICHA programs for the disabled members.

The efforts of the organizing committee Nino Medoro, Aldo Lucchino and Gary Crumb were acknowledged.

The Dario Rossi Volunteer Bursary was awarded to Robert Demarco, a 4 year volunteer with the ICHA floor hockey program. Volunteers are the backbone of the ICHA success
 

The 24th Annual Handicapable Soccer Tournament will be hosted by the ICHA on March 11 & 12, 2010.

The 23rd Annual Invitational HandiCAPABLE Indoor Soccer Tournament was hosted by the Italian Canadian HandiCAPABLE Association on March 12/13, 2009.

The tournament saw 12 teams of special needs individuals in three separate divisions compete for top honours.

The weekend displayed the strength of these exceptional athletes who competed with dignity and respect for each other.

The winners of the 'B' division were the Brampton panthers, 'C' - South Simcoe classics and 'D' South Simcoe Lafarge Classics.

The highlight of the weekend was a Celebrity Soccer Challege held as part of the opening ceremonies on Friday night. The best of the best of the 14 Handicapable teams and local personalities such as: Steve Bell from AM800, as well as representatives from local soccer clubs and our very own board of directors competed in the soccer game.

All the tournament participants were treated to an Awards Banquet and dance at the Fogolar Furlan Club on Saturday night.

Held at the Riverfront, this annual event is sponsored by Ives Insurance. Our members spend the day learning how to fish while enjoying the summer weather. Our event has been featured on TSN’s fishing show.
